(Please note if you do not authorise your device, you will not be able to read your eBook on other devices.)

Click on the "Access your downloads" button and click on the Download link. The file containing your access key will be saved to the downloads folder of your device.

3. Download your eBook and read anytime, anywhere
Open or drop the downloaded access key into the Adobe Digital Editions reader.
You can now read your eBook offline on your chosen device and switch to other devices as needed.

If you have ordered eBooks, these are available immediately upon completion of purchase by clicking on the "Access your downloads" button at the top of the order confirmation screen. You can return to the order confirmation screen at any time by clicking on "View your order" in your order confirmation email.

If you have not previously purchased NEBOSH eBooks, please follow the eBook Download Instructions before downloading your eBook access key.

If you purchase multiple copies of an eBook, you will receive a separate access key for each copy. These can be accessed from the order confirmation screen by clicking on the "Access your downloads" button. You can return to the order confirmation page at any time by clicking on the "View your order" link in your order confirmation email.

We recommend that you copy the individual access keys into another format such as a spreadsheet so that you can track distribution and record which link was sent to whom.

If your eBook is a fixed layout PDF eBook, you can adjust the text size using the "Change page size" option which is located at the top right of the screen.

It is not possible to adjust the text size on fixed layout ePub eBooks using the desktop app.

Mobile app

If your eBook is a reflowable eBook, you can change the text size using the slider at the bottom of the page or by clicking on the "T" icon in the menu below the slider. You may need to tap on the page to show this menu. This option is not available for fixed layout eBooks.

For all format eBooks, you can also adjust the text using your device's zoom functionality.

NEBOSH eBooks use Adobe digital rights management and can be read using the Adobe Digital Editions app. When you download your eBook to the Digital Editions app, it becomes associated with your Adobe ID and can only be opened on other devices using your Adobe ID.

Troubleshooting

The .acsm file that is downloaded to your device is an access key
not the eBook itself. When you first open this file with Adobe Digital Editions, a copy of the book will be downloaded to your device.

If your device attempts to use another program such as Adobe Acrobat Reader or Microsoft Word to open your downloaded file, you will need to reset the default program for .acsm files as Adobe Digital Editions. You can do this by right-clicking (or equivalent) on the .acsm file in your downloads folder and selecting "Open with" Adobe Digital Editions.

Alternatively, you can open the file from within Adobe Digital Editions using "Add to Library" in the File menu.

All NEBOSH eBooks are delivered in the same manner regardless of file type. This means that they must be read using the Adobe Digital Editions eReader app or a compatible eReader app.

Adobe Digital Editions FAQs are available here.

Instructions for how to reset or change the password for your Adobe ID are available here.

Information on authorising and de-authorising Digital Editions using an Adobe ID is available here.

(Please note that NEBOSH does not offer a Vendor ID option; you must authorise Adobe Digital Editions with an Adobe ID. If you do not authorise Adobe Digital Editions with an Adobe ID, you will not be able to read your eBook on other devices.)

Fixed layout eBooks replicate the design and layout of the printed book and are delivered as either PDF or ePub files. Regardless of file type, these are accessed via Adobe Digital Editions.

Reflowable eBooks adjust the content per page to fit the device screen size and user preferences. These will always be delivered as ePub files.

Each NEBOSH eBook is available in either a fixed or a reflowable layout depending upon the specific publication. The format will be stated on the product information page.

If you have any concerns with the specific format of your chosen eBook, please contact publications@nebosh.org.uk.

Recent updates to the iOS operating system for iPhones and iPads mean that content does not display correctly on some devices. For example, on iPhone 11 and later, content may appear to be too big for the screen.

No fix for these issues has yet been identified and it is recommended that anyone experiencing these issues instead use a different device to access the eBook or an alternative eBook reader app that is compatible with Adobe Content Server files.
